OUR FARMS

Alta Mogiana is a traditional coffee region covering the northeast of the State of São Paulo and also some cities in the State of Minas Gerais. The tradition of producing the best coffees comes due to natural conditions as altitude, climate and ideal rainfall and as a result of extensive experience in growing and processing specialty coffees. Known worldwide for producing Arabica coffees of exceptional quality, with a distinct profile, featuring balanced body and acidity, excellent natural sweetness and a caramelized fragrance, the region is located on a plateau with an altitude between 800 meters and 1200 meters, being Pedregulho one of the highest cities of the region and the state.

O’Coffee is composed by seven farms: Nossa Senhora Aparecida, São José, Santa Rita, Santa Maria, Santa Adélia, Santa Helena and Fazendinha. The farms have 5,300 hectares, being 1,523 hectares dedicated to coffee plantation and a growth plan to double the planted area on the coming years. It has an average altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level, temperatures around 22ºC and an average rainfall of 1,600 mm/year, distributed mainly during summer, alternating with dry periods in winter.

OUR VARIETALS

Each coffee variety has specific attributes of aroma, body, acidity and sweetness. O’Coffee cultivates several varieties to match customer’s need. Before selecting a new variety to be cultivated in the farms, the company always looks for the one that best fits to the farm’s altitude, soil, climate and plantation system.

It is a tree of large size, uniform maturarion, large beans, easy climate adaptation and good productivity level.

ACAIA

This coffee variety has a large size, smaller beans and one of the mais characteristics is the earliness of ripening the cherries, wich are yellow. It has medium yield, with fragances and flavors usually sweet and citrics.

ARARA

This variety has an easy adaptation to different soils and climates. It is more resistant to frost and has a good uniformity of ripeness, which results on a harvest with few green beans.

BOURBON

This variety has an easy adaptation to different soils and climates. It is more resistant to frost and has a good uniformity of ripeness, which results on a harvest with few green beans.

ICATU

The tree has a large and vigorous size, the maturation is in the middle of harvesting season. It adapts to altitudes above 800 meters and show high yields.

YELLOW
CATUAI

It is adapted to high altitudes, allowing the coffee beans absorb more nutrients during their maturation process, presenting high yields. It has smaller tree size compared to Bourbon. Another great characteristic of Catuai is the resistance to rust, a typical disease of coffee plants.

RED
CATUAI

Vigorous plant, high yields, good recovery of production between years, resistance to rust and uniform maturation. It presents typical flavor that reminds chocolat sweetness.

MUNDO
NOVO

Vigorous plant, high yields, good recovery of production between years, resistance to rust and uniform maturation. It presents typical flavor that reminds chocolat sweetness.

CATUCAI

PARTNER ESTATES

A new business approach O’Coffee has developed. Based on partnerships with selected local farmers, we included new farms on our operation to offer a consistent supply of our specialty coffees standards over the year, according to our clients’ specific demands.

All the coffees follow our strict quality control system, with coffee beans being originated farm-traceable, processed, blended and cupped, matching one the standards of our specialty coffees.

Besides, we promote a close relationship with the farmers, providing them training about the best agricultural and harvesting practices, post-harvesting techniques for specialty coffees, making them able to continuously improve their quality, and, consequently, to improve the prices they receive and turn it into a sustainable long-term relationship.

This is a new channel for clients to grow their coffee business through the reliable partnership developed with O’Coffee – Brazilian Estates.
