How do we take care of nature?
The ecological management of pests and diseases, the permanent preservation along water courses, the transformation of waste into compost and its use in ecological fertilization of the crops has, as a result, coffee fields producing coffees with life. This is an important value and it is the best way to express sustainability on coffee’s cultivation. The Environmental Management Plan includes areas of permanent preservation within the properties. There are approximately fifteen million square meters devoted to preservation and conservation of native species, a commitment of O’Coffee with the future.
More than 1.500 hectares of permanent preservation areas.
Growing Native Forests
We are planting 36.230 m² of native forests, conserving water springs that are responsible for 70% of the water we use in our operation.
We use biofuels in our vehicles and dry husks on mechanical dryers, reducing the emission of CO2.
Reuse of Water
We reuse the water of coffee processing to grow bananas, resulting in an increase of organic inputs and microorganisms on the soil, turning it into an environmental friendly cycle.
We are committed with the most demanding codes of conduct, focusing on using green-sign inputs only.
We distribute brochures for public schools spreading the awareness to protect wildlife.
More than 170 animals were seen at our farms, registered and then included on the project of wildlife protection.
